LIGHT RAIL |
|
A circular light rail line (at grade with level crossings) is being built to serve the central area (19.6 km with 32 stops). Completely without overhead lines, with the CAF trams recharging their super-capacitors at stops via pantograph, much like in Seville. In 2021, the fleet was enhanced with Citadis trams from Alstom. Trial service from C1 Lizihnei to C4 Kaisyuan Jhonghua began on 16 Oct 2015. On 26 June 2016, the service was extended to stop C8 Kaohsiung Exhibition Center, and on 30 June 2017 to Dayi Pier-2. Hamasen was reached on 26 Sept 2017. 12 Jan 2021: Hamasen – Gushan District Office & Lizaine – Kaisyuan Park (4.1 km) 16 Dec 2021: Gushan District Office (C17) – Museum of Fine Arts TRA Station (C20) (1.8 km) 05 Oct 2022: Museum of Fine Arts TRA Station (C20) – Heart of Love River (C24) (2.4 km) 01 Jan 2024: Heart of Love River (C24) – Kaisyuan Park (C32) (4.9 km)
