Quito (1.7 million inhabitants in metropolitan area) is the capital of Ecuador, located at 2850-3100 m above sea level.

North-south line (El Labrador - Quitumbe): 22 km, underground, 15 stations

Construction started in late-2012 for initial completion in 2016; now eventually starting to carry passengers in early 2023. 18 six-car trains supplied by CAF.
