Ottawa Light Rail Map Confederation Line

Line 2 closed for upgrading and extension!

 O-TRAIN

Ottawa is the capital city of Canada, and home to over 1.3 million people in the entire metropolitan area.

 Confederation Line

Opened on 14 Sept 2019, the Confederation Line (or Line 1) is a 12.5 km modern light rail line including a 2.5 km downtown tunnel, while the rest of the line is on the surface, though grade-separated, on a metro-style alignment; St-Laurent station is covered, though it is not really below ground. The light rail route partly replaced a former busway (transitway).

Operated with Alstom Citadis trams.

In the next stage, the Confederation Line will be extended east by 12.5 km from Blair to Place d’Orléans and Trim (5 stations by 2024), and west by 15 km to Moodie Drive with a branch to Algonquin (11 stations by 2025). [Project Website]

 Trillium Line

The original O-Train, now the Trillium Line (or Line 2) is an 8 km light rail line, since upgrading in 2015 operated with six Coradia Lint 41 DMUs from Alstom on an old railway line between Bayview and Greenboro, with a train every 10-12 minutes.

As approved in March 2019, the Trillium Line will be extended south from Greenboro to Riverside South, with a branch to Macdonald-Cartier International Airport, adding 16 km and 6 stations (plus two on existing line). To allow for this extension, the line has been out of service as of 2 May 2020 until 2024!
